A Summary of Available Accommodation

At Rosemoor you will find a total of nine units, all different in plans, layout, furnishings and the number of people they will accommodate. Our smallest unit sleeps 2, and our biggest unit (a combination of Apple and Peace Cottages, which can be internally joined by opening a (properly soundproofed!) interconnecting door) sleeps 10 with ease, offering a wealth of space and facilities in the process.
The words "small" and "big" are used in a relative sense in this context, because all our units are spacious for the number of people they accommodate; some of them being very roomy indeed. Their location within our grounds and their relative position to each other only add to the general feeling of spaciousness Rosemoor invokes. The wide views from Rosemoor in almost every direction will further enhance your experience of the peace and quiet of undisturbed countryside.

All our cottages are graded either 3 stars or 4 stars by Visit Wales, the former Wales Tourist Board.

In the main season four of our cottages change over on Friday (details to be found in the table which follows), the others changing over on Saturday. Generally speaking the main season runs from the week before Easter until the last week of October. Outside this period there is almost unlimited flexibility as to your starting and leaving days and the length of your stay, whichever cottage you prefer.

Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) Rose Cottage - our baby - is the smallest of our cottages. It most definitely is the most popular cottage with our guests as well so don't wait too long booking it, as it fills very early in the year. It has one bedroom with king size bed, and an en-suite bathroom. The cottage thus comfortably sleeps two.
Rose Cottage has recently been upgraded. It now boasts a very modern bathroom and kitchen - with dishwasher. The bathroom has underfloor heating: lovely and warm when you step out of the shower. From the living room big french doors open out onto the garden.
Please note that we cannot accept babies in cots in Rose Cottage.

First Cottage

First Cottage from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) First Cottage is one of our intermediate cottages as far as the number of people it will accommodate is concerned. Because it is extremely spacious with its large sunny sitting room and two family sized bedrooms it is very popular: many of our returning guests book it for next year just to be sure it will not be gone for the week they want to come again.
The sitting room has 8' (2.4 m) sliding glass doors to the garden. One of the bedrooms has a double bed, and the other has two single beds, for a total of four people.
First Cottage is one of three cottages at Rosemoor which we keep "pet free".

Peace Cottage

Peace Cottage from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) Peace Cottage is definitely one of our cosiest and most comfortable cottages, equally popular with families and couples who want that little bit more space. It has, on your left when you enter, a very bright and sunny living room, with direct access, through french doors, to a patio and the garden. There is an open plan kitchen, like all which we have refurbished of high class and with high quality appliances, including a dishwasher. It has slate floors with underfloor heating in hallway, living room and kitchen. For additional cosiness the living room has a small woodburning stove as well. On the first floor the very stylish bathroom and two bedrooms lead off from a very spacious and architecturally interesting landing. One bedroom has a double bed and the second two singles, the cottage thus comfortably sleeping four.
If you are looking for accommodation for a small family group, an interconnecting door with neighbouring Apple Cottage can be opened, giving you a wealth of space and facilities (5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 lounges, for a total of 10 + 2 cots!).

Apple Cottage

Apple Cottage from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) Apple Cottage is most certainly one of our flagship cottages. It has a very cosy living room with direct access to its own patio and the garden. At the far end of the living room is the galley shaped kitchen: open plan, so the cook is not cut off from the living room, but kitchen "mess" is largely invisible. Worktops are solid slate, and the high quality appliances include a dishwasher. Like Peace Cottage Apple also has slate floors with underfloor heating in hallway, living room and kitchen and a woodburning stove in the living room.
Passing the kitchen there is a ground floor bedroom with a double bed and very roomy top-of-the-range en-suite bathroom with full disabled facilities, including a wheel-in shower, again underfloor-heated. Upstairs there is first a bedroom with two single beds, then a more compact second bathroom with shower over the bath, and finally the third, very spacious, bedroom with a double bed. The cottage sleeps six. The ground floor is completely level, and the entrance is also constructed with wheelchair users in mind: there is only 15 mm of easy-access wheelchair-friendly sill to negotiate.
If you are looking for accommodation for a small family group, an interconnecting door with neighbouring Peace Cottage can be opened, giving you a wealth of space and facilities (5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 lounges, for a total of 10 + 2 cots!).

Spring Cottage

Spring and Orchard Cottages from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) Spring Cottage is one of the three cottages at Rosemoor which are "pet-free", the others being its next-door neighbour Orchard Cottage and First Cottage. It is a compact two-storeyed cottage, with two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with a twin bunk. The cottage thus sleeps four.
Spring has recently been upgraded. Part of the upgrade was a complete overhaul of the living room and kitchen area. It now has slate floors downstairs and a completely new kitchen (with slate worktops and top-of-the range appliances, including a dishwasher) to bring it on a par with the other cottages at Rosemoor which have had major work done to them.

Orchard Cottage

Spring and Orchard Cottages from the Courtyard (Click to enlarge) Orchard Cottage - the third of our "pet-free" cottages - is almost identical to its neighbour Spring Cottage, but it has a third bedroom, which has two single beds, while the second bedroom has one single bed. The cottage thus sleeps five in the luxury of three bedrooms. From Orchard as well as Spring Cottage one has a beautiful view of the walled garden, with the remains of the orchard that once covered part of it.
Like its neighbour Spring, Orchard Cottage has recently been upgraded. As in Spring, the upgrade entailed amongst other things a complete overhaul of the living room and kitchen area. It now has slate floors downstairs and a completely new kitchen (with slate worktops and top-of-the range appliances, including a dishwasher) to bring it on a par with the other cottages at Rosemoor which have had major work done to them.

The Coach House

The Coach House from the Drive (Click to enlarge) The Coach House is a wholly detached building, with a charmingly belfried roof. From the very spacious living room one can step out through large french doors onto its patio inside the walled garden. The cottage has three bedrooms; one with a double bed, one with twin singles and a third (fairly narrow) one with a single bed.
The Coach House has been upgraded to the new Rosemoor standard. It has a high class kitchen with luxury appliances (including a dishwasher!), solid slate worktops, slate floors with very comfortable underfloor heating in living room and hallway and a woodburning stove for a cosy fire on the occasional chilly evening.
Please note that we cannot accept babies in cots in the Coach House.

Gardener's Cottage

Looking towards the Stairs to the Entrance of Gardener's Cottage (Click to enlarge) Gardener's Cottage is the smallest of our wholly detached cottages. Situated close to, but fully separated from, the Main House, in the old days it contained the lamp room for the house. The maids' sitting room was to be found where the present sitting room is. Upstairs were the trunk room, for the suitcases the Summers used when travelling abroad and a servant's bedroom, according to some used by the Estate Gardener, hence the name of the cottage. Its proximity to the main house does not impinge on its privacy. On the contrary, it is probably the most privately situated of all our cottages.
Gardener's Cottage is approached down an old outside natural stone staircase, as can be seen in the uppermost picture.

From the kitchen end of the open plan sitting room an open-tread pine staircase first passes an intriguing little window looking down into the greenhouse and then ends in a little hallway, from which two bedrooms lead off: one contains a double bed and the other a single, over which, set back from and at right angles to it, is a child's bunk bed, at sufficient height to ensure that the single below does not feel shut in. The cottage thus sleeps four.
Please note that Gardener's Cottage can take a baby in a cot, but only instead of the 4th person.

Gardener's Cottage has recently been given a completely new top-of-the-range bathroom, to complement the high-grade kitchen it has now had for some time already. As a result of this, there is now a very spacious shower, but no bath. At the back of the cottage - now clad in slate - there is a very spacious private patio.

Holly Tree

Holly Tree from the Garden in front of it (Click to enlarge) This unit, in the East wing of the Main House, has only our office and stores beneath it; they are below ground level on the front elevation as shown in the photograph, so that Holly Tree is only seven steps up from the garden in front of it. In former days it used to house some of the estate staff. The then owners of Rosemoor didn't want to be too close to their servants' quarters: the wing projects out from the Main House, making Holly completely private, as if it were on its own. Holly Tree has been upgraded to what we think is a very high standard indeed. Holly offers a smart living room, with a warm wooden floor, a very comfortable heating system using heated walls, a luxury kitchen with top of the range appliances set in solid slate worktops and a woodburning stove for a cosy fire on the occasional chilly evening. The dining area has a window looking north over the Lake and the Nature Reserve, and the sitting area has a large south-facing window with a lovely oblique view past the wall of Gardener's Cottage to the wooded valley down which Rosemoor Lake flows to the sea. To the left of the hallway there is a big bedroom, with a double and a single bed, again with a view north to the Lake. The very spacious bathroom is a pleasure to the eye and a joy to use, with its modern high grade fittings and decoration.
Please note that we cannot accept babies in cots in Holly Tree.
