The GroundsYour children will certainly love the space within our grounds. Well away from the road they can run around without you having to worry too much about them. For very small children the walled garden behind the cottages is ideal. When they are a bit older our spacious and attractive playground will definitely be a treat. We designed and built it ourselves. Sturdy wooden constructions make up our 4-seater seesaw, swings, and climbing frame. For toddlers there is also a bouncy bike. Upon request we can provide you with a safe toddler's swing.For children as well as adults, there is a table tennis room. Bats are provided and balls can be obtained for a small deposit, which will be refunded when you return the ball undamaged.
Your cottage is provided with a variety of board games and puzzles for the unhoped-for rainy day or the half hour just-before-going-to-bed.
AnimalsWe have some animals on the premises which your children may want to get to know. Firstly there are our three cats, Leo, Jarvis and Bertie. They are pretty shy, so getting to know them may not be all that easy. Then there are our chickens: a few hens and a cockerel. Yes, the cockerel does crow from time to time. We sell any surplus eggs to our guests. Lastly, there will soon be goats at Rosemoor again. Our previous goat died not too long ago, and because we do not yet have a goat house on the premises we shall wait getting new ones till that is finished.The Nature ReserveOn our doorstep is the Rosemoor Nature Reserve with its 5½ acre lake. In early Spring the Canada Geese arrive to breed here. Take you children down to the lake to feed the goslings or see them feed in the fields surrounding us, when they are big enough to make the walk from the Reserve up.BeachesRosemoor is in easy reach of many safe, unpolluted sandy beaches and havens. The broad sweep of St. Bride's Bay (visible on the photograph on our homepage) is only two miles away at its nearest point.Extras Free of ChargeAs you will have gathered from the above, Rosemoor is excellently suited for a holiday with children. We therefore provide upon request free of charge all handy extras you may need when travelling with small children: cots, high chairs, baby baths, nappy buckets, toilet trainers and night lights. Please note that we do NOT provide bedding for cots, so please bring your own.
Where there is any risk of damage, we can arrange to have beds made with protective plastic sheets, as we no more want the embarrassment of having to charge you for a soiled mattress than you do of having to come and tell us about one. |
