We moved to Rosemoor at the end of the 'nineties ourselves. Our previous lives were spent in the Netherlands (Yes, we are Dutch).
When we came to Rosemoor for the first time we immediately fell in love with the place. We were lucky enough to find our predecessors wanting to retire, so this is us now.

Jacqui has formerly been director of the Faculty of Philosophy at Utrecht University. Outdoor life has always been her passion. She gets plenty of that here at Rosemoor.

John is a pharmacist with a love for jobbing around the house. Enough opportunities for that over here!

We both love walking and whenever possible, we are out exploring the Coast Path and areas of interest inland.

Living with us at Rosemoor are Leo, Jarvis and Bertie. From the start of 1999 our Dutch cat Pjotr had to endure six months of quarantine after his journey over from the Netherlands. In June of 1999 he joined us at Rosemoor. At almost 17 years of age he had deteriorated much more than we had hoped during his 6 months of solitary confinement. On 26 July he began showing extreme signs of a grave neurological disorder, because of which we we felt the most humane thing was to have him put to sleep. We buried him inside the grounds of Rosemoor, so in a way he is still with us. Good hunting in the eternal mice-fields, Pjotr!
Leo and Jarvis, of Irish descent, are much younger, so we hope they will be with us for a long time still. Bertie is a very young cat, at just over a year old little more than a kitten really when he came to Jacqui as a stray when she was collecting something from people in Llanelli. Hence his official name is Bertie ap Llanelli. Very hungry, skinny, and quite ferocious when it came to defending what he thought was his food. At first this caused quite some upsets with Leo and Jarvis, who know that they will always get enough to eat; something Bertie still had to learn.
We make sure none of them ever get inside our cottages: we may love them, but we cannot expect you to do so too.

On the premises you will also find a number of free-roaming chickens and a cockerel (surplus eggs are for sale to our guests) and - once we finish our goat house - two goats.
