2009 was a very busy year for us. The early part of the year was spent upgrading the living room of Rose Cottage, and living room, kitchen and bathroom of First Cottage. The results of that can be seen in the relevant sections of the cottage details.

At the start of the year this is what the log store looked like.

And that is how it stayed until we were able to get back to it by the middle of the year. At that point we started the lean-to part of the store, for which timbers still needed cutting. This is part of the end wall of the lean-to, being fitted together for the first time.

Not too long after that a purlin was the very last part of the timber frame to be cut. This is it, waiting to be put in place.

And this is the frame: finished!

Cladding has meanwhile been fitted, as have the roof sheets. Some minor block work still needs to be done, flashings need to be put in place, gutters put up, doors made, lights put in, and bridge crane fitted. But the end is in sight. This photo was taken just before the roof sheets went on.

More to follow as we go along. Hope to see you back!
